Ailing actor, Tunde Alabi, Begs Nigerians for Help, Says ‘I don’t want to die’

Legendary Nollywood actor, Tunde Alabi, who is battling an ailment at the Lagos General Hospital, has called on well-meaning Nigerians to come to his rescue.

The ‘Village Headmaster’ actor, who is reportedly battling diabetes for years with no treatment because of lack of money, is lying critically ill with one of his leg set for amputation in order to save his life.

Speaking with HVP, Alabi narrated his ordeal, saying he was hale and hearty until the night of 19th of July, when he had a strange expulsion on his right leg which has not only kept him off the screen for sometime now, but has also impoverished him.

He said, “I went to bed at about 8:30 pm that fateful day with the intention of waking up at 1 am. When it was about 9 pm, I had a strange expulsion on my right leg.

“Immediately, the leg started burning and I screamed throughout the night. The following morning I couldn’t move the leg again. It was a spiritual attack. That’s what has kept me under this condition,” he narrated.

The actor dismissed claims he had been battling diabetes, saying, “For years, I never knew I was a diabetic patient. In fact, it was after I was admitted at the hospital that I was diagnosed as suffering from diabetes.”

On the amputation of his leg, the actor explained that the hospital management has not concluded on whether his leg would be amputated or not.
Recall that renowned actor and movie director, Paul Julius, among others, had urged well-meaning Nigerians to come to the actor’s aid financially.

Continuing, Alabi said, “I may be evicted from the hospital any moment from now because I have no money to sustain my stay here.

“I don’t want to die. I am calling on well-meaning Nigerians to come to my rescue.”
He, however, thanked some of his colleagues who had been supporting him financially.
Nollywood recently lost an ace actor, Martins Njubuigbo, popularly known as Elder Maya, who battled a liver-related ailment.
