King Sunny Ade, Living Legend Worth Celebrating – Ooni of Ife

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has described King Sunny Ade as a living legend worth celebrating.
Ogunwusi made the remarks at a public lecture to mark King Sunny Ade’s 70th birthday at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
The theme of the lecture was: “Nigeria music Industry; the falling standards.”
The Ooni said that King Sunny Ade’s experience in the Nigerian music industry was worth emulating by upcoming artists.

Ogunwusi said: “We are all here today to celebrate another leader in the music industry; I personally took it upon myself to be part of this event when the organiser came to me.”
His royal majesty lamented that Nigerians were yet to imbibe the spirit of celebrating Nigerians who had distinguished themselves in various disciplines in the country.

A Vaccine For The Common Cold?

Everybody hates catching a cold, but we are all resigned to it inevitably happening on a regular basis. If you don’t have a cold at least once a year you can count yourself lucky. The reason we catch colds with such regularity is due to rhinoviruses (HRV), which are the most common viral infectious agents in humans. They are what cause the common cold, although over 200 variants of virus in total are implicated with common colds.

There’s 99 recognized types of the human rhinovirus, and they thrive in a temperature range found in our noses (33-35 degrees Celsius). They are also tiny, ranging in size from 300 nanometers down to just 30nm. Catching one of these viruses is easy because transmission is either from contact with a contaminated surface (wash your hands!) or by inhaling an infected respiratory droplet after an ill person coughs, sneezes, or simply exhales breath (wear a mask when ill!).Scientists have some good news for us, though.

Even though there are so many types of rhinovirus we could soon have a vaccine. Emory University School of Medicine and Children’s Healthcare based in Atlanta have been experimenting with mixing 25 variants of inactivated rhinovirus with their vaccine. When injected into mice their bodies reacted by producing antiviral antibodies that would prevent humans from becoming infected.

So in theory one dose of vaccine will protect against all forms of the common cold. For now, the vaccine remains a manufacturing tech problem to overcome, but one that is in the hands of a startup called Meissa Vaccines, Inc. If they succeed in bringing such a vaccine to market, expect everyone involved to become very rich very quickly as who wouldn’t pay to guarantee they never caught a cold again?

You think your neighbors are bad? Get a load of these! In honor of National Good Neighbor Day on Sept. 28, 2016, Wonderwall.com is taking a look at some of the celebs who will make your neighbors look good! Let's start with Gigi Hadid, who's actually called herself "the worst neighbor." According to a recent interview in Harper's Bazaar, if you live next to Gigi, you should expect to hear some show tunes! In the mag's October 2016 issue, the supermodel revealed that she loves "to sing Broadway show tunes at home, which makes me the worst neighbor, but [it's] a good stress reliever." Her go-to is "Popular" from "Wicked." "That's the only one I'll tell you because I know at some point, someone's going to ask me to do this and that's the only one I'm willing to do publicly," the New York City resident added. Keep reading to see more bad celeb neighbors!
Wouldn't it be AH-Mazing to live next door to a famous celebrity??!!
Apparently not!
From Chris Brown's graffiti to Miley Cyrus' bangerz, celebrities may be fun to party with, but DEFINITELY NOT to live next to.
Especially if your neighbor happens to be Justin Bieber.

Onitsha - Enugu Expressway Now in Total Ruin.

On a good note, it takes approximately an hour to drive from Onitsha in Anambra State to Enugu, the capital city of the old Eastern Nigeria. But, at the moment, it takes over three tortuous hours to move from one end to the other due to the terrible condition of the federal expressway linking Anambra and Enugu States. Consequently, vehicles travelling from either point are now forced to take the old Enugu – Onitsha road and in no time, the road, which was rehabilitated by both the Anambra and Enugu States, would give way due to heavy traffic and articulated vehicles plying the road.

Commuters, particularly business men, are lamenting that except immediate remedial measures are taken, there might not be any road linking Enugu and Onitsha. Even Okada Keke would not be able to ply the road; one might resort to using either motorcycles or bicycles to convey goods and human beings.

US Pastor Call For Paedophiles,Gays And Adulterers To Be Killed.

Most African countries have laws against homosexuality. Perhaps US pastor Steven Anderson thought he would be welcomed in Botswana with open arms.
The Tempe, Arizona pastor managed to enter the country, and get on the radio there. On the air, he said the people killed at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, this summer were "disgusting homosexuals who the Bible says were worthy of death".

AFP reports that he was speaking to Gabz FM on Tuesday morning. He criticised "drunkenness and alcoholism" in Botswana, and repeated his views on homosexuality, calling a gay guest on the show "disgusting".
"He should be killed," the pastor said.
Anderson reportedly also used the interview to call for paedophiles and adulterers to be killed and to say that the Bible barred women from preaching in church. He also claimed that he had reached Botswana by way of Ethiopia.

Rihanna, Drake Superstars Are Planning Barbados Wedding, Report Says

That is according to an insider who has been speaking with Life and Style Magazine, an American media outfit.

Rihanna even wants to become a mom as soon as possible. Yeah, you read that right. Bad girl Riri wants a baby of her own soon, if reports are to be believed.

Finding it hard to imagine what Rihanna would look with a baby bump?
Well, it might become a reality pretty soon because according to the source, Rihanna desires to be a mother ever since she got really close to her niece.
"Rihanna really has the mommy urge, and Drake is completely on board with the idea, they've talked about how cute their kids would be. They know they'll be forever linked if they have a child, and they are ok with that."

The two are rumored to be planning to marry in Rihanna's home country, Barbados.
“They want to fly guests in via private jet,’ and are ‘looking into holding the ceremony at the Sandy Lane Hotel, which is the most exclusive place on the island,” the source claims

It looks like everything is going pretty well for the music couple except the tiny little issue of Drake’s dad, Dennis Graham, who  is believed to be not-so-freaked about the whole thing, as he keeps insisting that Rihanna and his son are just friends, nothing else.
No one is quite certain of anything yet; but we wait [im] patiently for events to unfold.

Why is Internet Security Important?

Internet security is important, because it is essential for protecting personal and business information. High-profile attacks allow hackers to steal credit and debit card information, damaging reputations and causing financial havoc for victims. Business data is also at risk.

Alone, computers are powerful tools. The Internet, however, provides even more potential. For businesses and government entities, the Internet provides a means of allowing customers to handle accounts without having to come to a physical location or talk on the phone. When Internet-accessible information is not secured, however, the consequences can be disastrous.

Databases often store social security numbers and credit card information, which can be used to rob victims and steal identities. One breach can lead to millions of compromised identities, so syndicates in China, Russia and elsewhere are investing a significant amount of time and energy into launching these attacks.

As more organizations move to cloud-based operations, the importance of Internet security is being emphasized. The cloud paradigms require that information be made available over the Internet; personal documents are stored on remote servers. Top-notch security is essential for preventing this information from being stolen. Businesses, in particular, are at great risk; stolen internal documents can cause a tremendous amount of harm.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN DIRECTED BY THE POLICE TO WRITE A STATEMENT.

If the police ask you to write a statement, which they normally do when they stop you on the road and take you to their station or when they invite you to their station, you should know how to write a good statement that will not implicate you.

First, whether you write a statement as a witness or as a suspect, you must understand that your statement is very likely going to be used against you either in court or for the purpose of blackmail by some officers (not all). Therefore, take your statement writing as a serious matter.
Remember that you have right to refuse to write a statement until your lawyer is present. But this normally leads to argument and hostile reactions from the police, and it may likely be a pretext for them not releasing you immediately.

Zuckerberg Impressed by 11-Year-Old Nigerian Developer.

In a post on his Facebook page, Zuckerberg said he is looking forward to future projects by Tayo.
He said: “This is Tayo. He’s 11 and he recently showed me a game he built called Spike Rush.
“I got my first computer when I was Tayo’s age, and just like him I started out coding games. I’ve always thought building simple games was the gateway to building more complex apps.”

Zuckerberg, the world’s 5th richest person, also said the games developed by Tayo were more complex than the games he first built.
“My first games were simpler than Tayo’s, but no matter your level, there’s nothing like playing something you built yourself.

A new teaser for the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me arrived online Tuesday, the same day as the 20th anniversary of the late rapper’s untimely death.

The clip shifts through an ominous mix of footage, reimagining Shakur’s stints behind bars between concerts, closed door conversations, and bouts of heavy gunfire. “Like all black leaders, you have a bullseye on your back,” warns The Walking Dead actress Danai Gurira, who plays Shakur’s mother, Afeni. “I ain’t no black leader,” he retorts.

Nobody can impose Islam on Nigeria, says Kumuyi.

The General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has dismissed insinuations that certain interests are planning to Islamise Nigeria, saying the will of the people cannot be overruled easily.
Kumuyi, who said this on Thursday in Calabar, Cross River State, also noted that Nigeria was experiencing the worst economic recession in 29 years.
The Deeper Life General Overseer, however, expressed the hope that the country would come out of the current recession, which he also noted had affected the churches.
According to Kumuyi, who was responding to questions on alleged plans to Islamise Nigeria as well as the targeted killings of Christians in the North, imposing a religion on the people of Nigeria will only be possible if the people choose to be docile.
