Pastors Against Retirement Age Are Money Launderers - Tunde Bakare
He described church leaders who oppose the law as “pentecostal charismatic rascals” who want to do whatever they like even if the law says otherwise
Popular pastor, Tunde Bakare has condemned religious leaders who are against the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria Act 2011.
Mr Bakare said church leaders who oppose the law were trying to prevent the public from knowing about acts of money laundering that they had indulge in by virtue of their positions.
“I can testify that the law was explained to kingpins in the church, but now you want to get away because you want to cover your iniquity. You won’t get away with it.
You want to get away because you have laundered money, and you are now trying to cover your yansh”.
Bakare, who is also the Convener of the Save Nigeria Group, praised the law, saying it was good for order and accountability in the church.
“I am a trained lawyer, I have read the law. The law specifically mentioned Chief Imams and pastors, that they can have lifelong terms. But it says you cannot be chief priest, chief treasurer, and chief administrator.”
The convener of the Save Nigeria Group described church leaders who oppose the law as “pentecostal charismatic rascals” who want to do whatever they like even if the law says otherwise.
You don’t want to comply with the law, then why did you register under the law? It is a spirit of lawlessness and the anti-Christ because the anti-Christ is a lawless spirit.”
Bakare who is the serving overseer of The Latter Rain Assembly said; “the fact that I am quiet doesn’t mean I am stupid. I don’t fight useless battles” adding that the law was good for order and accountability in the church.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye had earlier resigned as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God citing the Act as his reason.

2016 Was The Hottest Year On Record -- Again.
Last year was officially the Earth's warmest since record-keeping began in the 1880s, the World Meteorological Organization announced Wednesday morning.
That means 2016 set a global heat record for the third year in a row according to NOAA and NASA, who held a joint press conference on Wednesday to discuss the record.
Not only was this the third consecutive year to rank hotter than all previous years, it also means 16 of the 17 hottest years on record have occurred since 2000, according to NOAA. To put this in perspective, the last time we had a record cold year was 1911.
Temperatures over the Earth's continents and oceans in 2016 were 1.1 degree Celsius (1.98 degrees Fahrenheit) above the pre-industrial average, according to the WMO. That means we are already a majority of the way to the 1.5-degree warming goal set at the Paris Climate Agreement in 2015.
Climate scientists say greenhouse gas pollution, which humans are creating primarily by burning fossil fuels and chopping down rainforests, likely contributed to the 2016 record.
And the pollution certainly is behind the long-term trend toward warming, scientists say.
"(T)he spate of record-warm years that we have seen in the 21st century can only be explained by human-caused climate change," said Michael Mann, director of the Earth Science Center at Pennsylvania State University.
"The effect of human activity on our climate is no longer subtle. It's plain as day, as are the impacts -- in the form of record floods, droughts, superstorms and wildfires -- that it is having on us and our planet."

“I am my own manager 2017!! Don’t put your life for another man hand,” the 24-year-old singer wrote.
“Fuck all that international shit! It’s cool but fuck it. I am back to the basics.”
The artist who recently threw shades at D’Banj in a new single, Orekelewa, with DJ Jimmy Jatt, did not give any reason for firing his manager.
The move came after the Aye crooner dropped a single, Prayer, with one of his label signee, Mayorkun.
Davido who had a drought of awards in 2016 also announced that he’ll be dropping 3 hot singles, one produced by Tekno and some featuring American artistes in 2017.

Central Bank of Nigeria Bans Transaction in Bitcoins, Onecoin, Others.
THE Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, yesterday, banned banks from any transactions in virtual currencies. In a circular to banks and other financial institutions on virtual currency operations in Nigeria, Amogu stated: “The emergence of Virtual Currencies (VCs) has attracted investments in payments infrastructure that provides new methods of transmitting value over the internet.
Exchange platforms Virtual currencies “Transactions in VCs are largely untraceable and anonymous making them susceptible to abuse by criminals, especially in money laundering and financing of terrorism. VCs are traded in exchange platforms that are unregulated, all over the world. Steve Harvey Apologizes for Offensive Joke About Asian Men
Steve HAfter receiving intense backlash for controversial remarks he recently made about Asian men, Steve Harvey took to Twitter Tuesday to apologize to those he offended. While commenting on a 2002 book titled How to Date a White Woman: A Practical Guide for Asian Men during an episode of The Steve Harvey Show, the host made several racially charged jokes that landed him in hot water.
“I offer my humblest apology for offending anyone, particularly those in the Asian community, last week,” he wrote in response. “It was not my intention and the humor was not meant with any malice or disrespect whatsoever.”
The routine prompted criticism from many, including Fresh Off the Boat author Eddie Huang and a group of Asian-American New York lawmakers. “You and your producers managed to insult Asian men, white women, and black women with a single skit,” the lawmakers wrote in a letter Friday, according to NY Daily News. “Your statements were racist, sexist, and completely inappropriate for a public figure on a show broadcast to millions.”
Scientists Just Named a Tiny Moth After Donald Trump.
The moth's official name is Neopalpa donaldtrumpi
A new species of tiny moth has been named after Donald Trump, partly because the President-elect’s hairstyle resembles the moth’s distinctive yellow and white scales.
The minuscule creature, named Neopalpa donaldtrumpi, is the first species to bear the name of the soon-to-be president, whose inauguration is this Friday. It was discovered by Vazrick Nazari, a biologist and researcher from Ottawa, Canada.
“The new species is named in honor of Donald J. Trump,” Nazari wrote in a review of the species. “The reason for this choice of name is to bring wider public attention to the need to continue protecting fragile habitats in the U.S. that still contain many undescribed species. The specific epithet is selected because of the resemblance of the scales… of the moth to Mr. Trump’s hairstyle.”
The micro-moth was discovered in southern California, but its habitat extends to Baja California in Mexico.
Last year a critter found in the Peruvian Amazon hit the headlines because of its striking resemblance to Trump’s hairdo. The flannel moth caterpillar (Megalopyge opercularis), was subsequently dubbed the ‘Trumpapillar’ by researchers, Life Science reports.
